Check the shapes under the mesh transform. There needs to be only one origMesh. It’s the hidden ones, one way to see them is with the arrow buttons and check what he selects. Or in the Hypergraph I think you can also see them.
Sometimes when you freeze a mesh with deformers, it keeps the origMesh, and when you bind it again, it ends up with 2 origMeshes - and that’s bad for the skinning tools
